Mid-Ulster Ladies 3
Dromara Ladies 0

MID-ULSTER Ladies set off to the perfect start of the season with a resounding 3-0 win over Dromara Village.
A well taken goal by Stacey Hodgett was sandwiched between a double from Laura Burton as the Ladies ensured they started on a winning note.
From the first whistle Mid-Ulster took the game to the visitors forcing Dromara to continuously defend and their keeper to pull off some good saves.
The pressure finally paid off as the local Ladies grabbed the lead, a free kick from Heather Hunniford lashed home by Laura Burton with an excellent strike.
But despite taking the lead and putting Dromara under some immense pressure a combination of some good goalkeeping and the crossbar kept the score the same.
But that soon changed as the second half got under way and the Mid-Ulster Ladies added to their lead.
Stacey Hodgett scored a ‘smasher’ of a goal from the right wing to ensure full points.
But Laura Burton put the icing on the cake with her second of the match thanks to some excellent build-up from Julie Kilpatrick and Ruth Brown.
Dromara did battle back but rarely escaped the pressure in their own half and without a doubt the player of the match award went to the Dromara goalkeeper who made saves from almost every angle.
She certainly will not be looking forward to the return game.
